I'm thinking of adding the following para to Lite, where @rend is
discussed:
"
<p>The global <att>rend</att> attribute can be attached to any element,
and used wherever necessary to specify details of the highlighting used
for it. For example, a heading rendered in bold might be tagged
<code><head rend="bold"></code>, and one in italic
<code><head rend="italic"></code>.
</p>
<p>The values to be used for the <att>rend</att> attribute are not
specified by the TEI Guidelines, since they will depend entirely on the
needs of the particular project. Some typical values might include
<code>italic</code>, <code>bold</code>, <code>sup</code>(erior)
<code>smcap</code> etc. for font variations; <code>centre</code>,
<code>right</code> etc. for alignment; <code>large</code>,
<code>small</code> etc. for size. Several such words may be used in
combination as necessary, but no formal syntax is proposed. The full TEI
Guidelines also provide more rigorous mechanisms, using other W3C
standards such as CSS, as an alternative. </p>
All in favour?
