why would these stop being attributes? they look like simple tokens mostly

to non-attributes, yes

I now believe namespaces are URI, so believe in pointer

yes, agreed. call the extended one "tei.data.Philosophical"

nah, extend it to also allow "not many", "quite a few", "a reasonable
amount", "not many at all", "god knows", "really quite a decent number". etc

in other cases I either agree with Lou or concur that I dont know what to do
