Subject: Re: [tei-council] next Council meeting

I promised to provide a similar list of hotels for Oxford.
Sorry for the delay in doing so, I'm currently in Uppsala
Sweden where I've just taught two full days of a Digital
Literature course (with me talking about XPath, XQuery,
XSLT, the CURSUS project as a case study, and a heavily
plagiarised presentation on "Whither TEI").

The benefits of hosting the council meeting in Oxford is
that Lou, Sebastian and I wouldn't have to travel anywhere.
(Though, to be honest, I like going to strange new places...)

As with everywhere else, the prices for hotels
variehttp://www.oxfordcity.co.uk/index.htmls widely,
as I'm sure does the quality of service. All prices are
in British Pounds and for a range from the most modest
single they provide to an ensuite double. I've taken the
prices from their websites and not confirmed them. All
are within walking distance of OUCS (especially the historic
and prestigious Old Parsonage which is immediately next door).
Never having stayed at any of them I know nothing of their
general quality. (Perhaps the other Oxford residents may
have some opinions on them.)

Other attractions of Oxford include the University
buildings themselves, numerous museums, pubs, and restaurants.

Oxford is 70 mins (by coach) from Heathrow airport and about
an hour on the train from London Paddington railway station.
