Hi.
I'm Ali (short *a*, not a schwah) and this is my fifth attempt at sending an
introduction, so I hope that everyone appreciates it. Anyway... I first
discovered the wonders of the Internet last semester as I tracked my brother
on his travels around the country. He was one of the *Travellers* involved in
launching the AOL site Lost in America. Their stop in Charlottesville
happened to coincide with my twenty-first birthday party, and I thought I was
pretty cool to have the details of the festivities broadcast on AOL. However,
when I realized that my mother also had access to this information, I didn't
think that this system was so great anymore.
I'm primarily interested in the creative capacities of hypertext but am
definitely up for learning some of this technical stuff.
As an Echols scholar, I have opted not to commit to any specific major, but I
have particular interests in literature and foreign cultures. My favorite
class at UVA has been Prof. Ray's *Archaic Cult and Myth*.

Hasta viernes.
