I think that in the past we were concerned to reduce the number of pages, because we imagined
printing it; your version would take up quite a lot more space. I think you have a fair point, though, that
the current displays may well not be as readable as they could be.
There is a template "displayAttList" in stylesheets common/common_tagdocs.xsl which is
where anyone looking at this would have to tinker. Bear in mind that the same code is used to generate
HTML, LaTeX, Word etc
