This business about the picture is simpler than it looks - the PDF and ePub versions of the documentation for Lite are fine, because they embed the figure
at runtime. The HTML one, of course, simply has a reference to it:
<img src="./eyre-text.png" alt="Transcription naive d'un texte imprimé" class="graphic" style=" width:6in;">
which is fine until you copy the HTML somewhere else. Two solutions:
1. give a full URL for the graphic, or a relative one which works after installation
2. copy the figure whenever you copy the HTML
in the interests of world peace, I have changed the installation for the Exemplars doc to also copy
any graphics files in the directory. That's not a full solution, so future generations may have to give
this more consideration.
Amusingly, I see the Lite HTML doc is sort of broke too - see the first example section 2 of
http://www.tei-c.org/release/doc/tei-p5-exemplars//html/tei_lite.doc.html
or
http://www.tei-c.org/release/doc/tei-p5-exemplars//pdf/tei_lite.doc.pdf
I suggest that what we have now is not acceptable, and we should make a 2.4.1 release next week.
How did this mess come out, you ask? well, its yet another fallout of the disruption to the space-time continuum caused
by John McCaskey's perceptive observations about @xml:space and whitespace handling.
