[tei-council] Why is fDescr not fDesc?

Does anyone know why <fDescr> (feature description) is so named, and not 
<fDesc>, like other <*Desc> elements?

I'm not suggesting we should change it -- presumably we can't, now, 
because TEI feature structures are standardized by ISO -- but I just 
wondered if there's a history to it.
