Good. If the proposal is to offert the BSD-2-Clause then I am in favour.
Now all we have to resolve is the ontological issues! If there really is ample precedent for ducking those by saying people can choose whichever licence *they* think is correct, then I am not going to argue. I merely add this to my list of evidence that the law is an ass.

you're going back to the disclaimer business?
if there's a BSD variant chez http://www.opensource.org/licenses
which omits that clause, no problemo. What we can't afford
is to write our own variant.
