If you seriously want to know who uses the deb packages, I'd suggest 
asking on tei-l ... and even more widely. In the nature of things we 
don't know about the happy users we already have -- just the ones who 
complain.

Not producing deb packages in my opinion sends a message that we're not 
really serious about being open source bigots. That would be a shame.
