[tei-council] Should we look into joining Google Summer of Code 2010?

Hi all,

I was looking at some Google Summer of Code programmes just now. The
programme is discussed here:
http://socghop.appspot.com/document/show/program/google/gsoc2009/faqs#org_apply

I hadn't really known we could participate, but with our grant programme
and SIG activities, we are actually moving in a direction that would be
quite compatible with their programme. The main thing would be to look
into thinking about student-sized projects and an "ideas" page over the
next year. For example, we might be able to package some of the user
cases as projects; or we could look into infrastructure work. They would
need to be intellectually challenging, so it might take us a while to
think about our work in this way. But it might be an interesting idea to
pursue.

What do others think?
