Hmm, well, as I say, I haven't encountered them (to my relief). I guess if
on the witness stand and forced to answer, I would say I wouldn't use
numbered lgs. ("Aha!" exclaims opposing counsel triumphantly.) Still, I
stick to wanting numbered divs. 

Perry (haunted by the hobgoblins of his inconsistency).

Does this mean that if you did need to nest <lg>s you would want to 
have numbered ones available? I am aware of quite a number of 
projects that do nest <lg> fairly extensively (none of which use 
numbered  <lg>).
