As part of the Free Vermont movement, we went to Mayday in Wash. DC in 71. It
was a very excieting event as we were all in little affinity groups . I have
some photos of some of the Free Vt. groups stopping traffic some where,
talking to people on the streets, I believe we were trying to close down
Washington because of the War in Vietnam. I have the free Vermont poster we
made called Sow the Seeds of Revolution. It told of the collective work in
Vermont and warned folks who were coming to Earth Peoples Park and other
places in Vermont to care for the land and not to piss in the water.
I think were were there for almost a week, living in tents on grass some
where. Where did we all camp? One night I got brused by a DC police man
throwing a tear gas canister. I remember a rally or concert outdoors,
perhaps Jane Fonda was there.
After Mayday we went to our friend Lola's relatives house in I believe
Virginia to party of a number of days. I remember the song that we danced to
was Wild Horses.
