Good list from Michael (Hi, Michael!). My students in Black Literature
consistently voted The autobiography of Malcolm X the best book they read
in class. Walter Lowenfels did an excellent anthology on poetry protesting
the Vietnam War, called something like Where Is Vietnam? Can't recall the
exact title. Cleaver's Soul on Ice had an impact.
Best,
Alex
