Dear 60s-L Folks:

Many many thanks to all who responded to my query about the GI Press!
I've received a number of great leads and helpful advice.

And now for a shameless plug: My book on activist poetry of the 60s,
*Hearts and Minds: Bodies, Poetry, and Resistance in the Vietnam Era* will
be coming out in June from Rutgers UP (in hardcover & paperback! at your
favorite bookstore soon!) as part of Barbara Tischler's Perspectives on
the Sixties series. A chapter is devoted to poetry associated with GI
Resistance.

My research for this chapter was primarily conducted at the U of MN using
the Bell-Howell UMI microfilm series of Underground Papers and at the WI
State Historical Society--which was also all microfilm (to the best of my
knowledge--although I was only able to spend a limited amount of time
there, so I might've mmissed something). The replies I've gotten to my
query, though, should help me find some hardcopy to photograph for
illustrations to my forthcoming article. This article will be published
in a small, in-house publication for teachers in the PA State System of
Higher Education, called *Scholars*. But if you're interested in my work
on the GI Resistance and can't get my book, a short version of my chapter
appears in the Fall 1993 issue of *The Journal of American Culture*.

Again, many thanks to all for your kind responses!
