This is an interesting project and I am truly entertained by the
use of antique etiquette in a modern medium. ONe note, at the moment,
your head only takes you back to your head. But, this is merely a
technical problem. However, because of this I wasn't able to get to the
rest of the project and so am just responding to what I saw in class on
Friday. I liked the string of speech do's and don'ts. It felt as though
these maxims of discourse were being thrown in my face (who are you to
tell me how to speak!), like they would have been had I lived in the Victorian era. Because they were forced upon me, I
instinctively rebelled against what they had to say. This rebellion
however, was tempered by the distance between me and the text, causing me
to chuckle. This is a neat effect. ONe is able to understand how
disturbing such forced rules of society would be while still creating an
entertaining read for a present day reader. The dance idea was
interesting when presented friday. I have not seen how this will turn
out but could achieve the same effect as the speech string, only
visually. I did feel however a bit trapped in the speech string. If
you included some sort of escape hatch to get back to the main page it
would relieve the clausrophobic sense created by throwing a bunch of text
in the reader's face. Unless that's what your going for, in which case
I'll just deal and race the server with my back button.
Fascinating project though!
