VFH critique

Let me start with stylistic concers. The background looks really nice. I
like the faint vfh logo thoughout. I think it would look even better if
you tried doing it in a light brown, like the covers they use for their
publications. For a good pallette of Web colors with the RGB breakdowns
go to www.lynda.com/hexh.html. Along the same lines of color
coordination, it would be great if the titles of each of the sections were
red, although I realize that red is your link color.

The first (front page) is nice, but it takes forever to load up. That
picture is huge. I have an ethernet connection and it took a while. I
personally prefer the home2.html file as the front page. You could make
the center vfh a transparency and put the link to the now front page on
there, so that if they want the address and general info they can click
on that.

The graphics on home2.html weren't very crisp. I have been battling
with the same problem. I don't know what to tell you here. In the book
fair page, the idea of the stretched logo on the side is great, but there
are two difficulties with this. First, my computer froze while loading up
the thing, and second it isn't very clear at all. I did like the animated
book at the top, nice touch!

A few things can be done to facilitate navigation in the page where you
have the application. First of all, did you mean the appllication to be
turned in on line, is this for applicants to print out and send, or is it
just an example of what to expect? You need to clarify this, and make a
whole new page for the application alone, this will make the file shorter
and will not obligate those who are not interested in applying to scroll
endlessly. Another helpful thing when you are using anchor links wihtin
the same page, is to have a little anchor link back to the top of the page
at the end of each section. This will prevent unnecessary scrolling.
Another thing to do throughout the page would be to put links to
home2.html at the end (or top) of each of the sections.

The bullets in the "Quick Facts" page are really great. Maybe you could
use those throughout.

In cat/cat.html, it would be easier if you made the catalog list at the
bottom an unnumbered list. As it is, it's really hard to read.

One last small thing...try to avoid, at all cost, using italics. They
are virtually ilegible using a mac. You don't have a whole lot of them, but
use them spanringly still. I know it is early in the project, and we are yet
to do this in my group, but I spotted a couple of comma mistakes
and a few superfluous blank spaces in the text, as well as some chopped
sentences. Just remember to do a thorough reading before the project is
presented.

The page is looking great!
