Hello, Solar team. My name is Dave Shumaker and I am the project
coordinator for Monticello Avenue. I set up the solar account and SOLAR
directory a few weeks ago. Harley Miles just informed me today that you
might me having some trouble logging on.

As Jon noted, when you log on to the server, you will be dropped into the
/home/solar (or lv2/users/solar) directory. He also mentioned that he had
moved the files to the proper directory. But we should specify that the ftp
path is "www/doc/Ed/SOLAR" (not "www/doc/ed/solar" -- remember, case
matters <grin>). And the Web address is simply
<http://avenue.gen.va.us/Ed/SOLAR/title.htm>. The "www/doc" are not part of
the URL.

The password is another matter. If you have already worked this out, then
please ignore everything from this point on (don't worry, I'm used to being
ignored). Someone (Jon?) logged on to the server on October 21 and was
forced by the system to change the password. You will want to identify that
person, run him to ground, and beat him mercilessly until he shares the
password. That is, if you want more than one person to have access to the
directory.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me if you need anything further.

Dave Shumaker
