MSWord 6. compares documents in much the same way that DocuComp does. (One
publisher insists that all their freelance copy editors must use it, so that
the author can see what's been changed.)

Unfortunately the market for producing electronic databases has been such that
recent periodicals are indexed far more thoroughly than are older items. I do
not believe an electronic index exists for the _International Index_; if I am
wrong, I too would be interested in hearing of an alternative.
