    Following the request by ISO TC37/SC4 to the TEI Consortium
    (www.tei-c.org) to initiate a new activity on Feature Structure
    representation and declaration. The scope of this Activity will be
    to work towards an International Standard and a revision of the
    corresponding chapters in the TEI guidelines. The TEI Technical Council has
    approved this initiative and has agreed a  charter for this
    work available at <http://www.tei-c.org.uk/Council/tcw01.html>.

    In this context, the TEI Consortium is now ready to mandate experts to
    work on behalf of their respective national bodies as participants
    in the works initiated by ISO TC37 SC4 and requests the status of
    LIAISON A to be established by the SC4 Secretariat.

    TEI nominates Mr Lou Burnard (Assistant Director, Oxford University
    Computing Services: lou.burnard@oucs.ox.ac.uk) as reporting officer
    to attend forthcoming scheduled SC4 meetings and to represent TEI
    opinions, contributions and more general interests.
