[tei-council] Guidelines Building

First, apologies for breaking the build this morning. My simple change to resolve linking up att.source with att.responsibility had various knock-on effects. But it raises a question which has been bothering me a bit. Ideally, I’d like to be able to run local tests before I go blowing up everyone else’s workflow. I can build the Guidelines locally, but it entails mucking around with the Makefile, which is in svn and which I live in terror of accidentally committing, which would seriously blow up the automated builds.

Could the build infrastructure be refactored to live separately from the sources themselves? That way people like me who want to run local builds can do so without potentially mucking up everything. Or should I just do this for myself and write up a how-to?

And, alas, I see the build is still broken. The generated tei.dtd puts the definition of @source after att.responsibility references it. On that I will have to plaintively ask for help…I’ve no idea where that sort of thing is managed. I suppose I could put a duplicate definition of @source on att.responsibility….

Hugh
