I would suggest changing the language in the report of the discussion of 
the XPointer proposal to be a bit less insulting. Hugh put together this 
proposal in his own time, *having been requested to do so by Council* , 
and has as yet received no feedback on it via the SOM list where he 
circulated it a few days ago. Having the permanent record of the Council 
meeting label it "pointless" (even with a question mark) seems to me 
highly disrespectful of that effort.
