... indeed. but it's not that I added a dependency, it's because people 
suddenly noticed something they didn't like in the stylesheet doing the 
conversion of the release notes. something would have had to be changed 
to resolve that, whether or not by means of the documented "profiles" 
mechanism.

incidentally, are we now generating a plain text readme for inclusion in 
the debian packages automagically?
