My vote:

2.0.0 now, 2.0.1 on Monday.

That does two things:

1. Minimizes the number of bad copies in the wild.

2. Shows that the remaining bad copies are out of date and have been
superseded.

The only bad side is that some people would get a fixed 2.0.0 this
weekend, and then download what's essentially the same package labelled
2.0.1 on Monday, but that's not serious.

This also means that the process of release is done again twice, which
means that the first time through, whoever is doing it can create
careful instructions, and then the second time through, they (or
preferably someone else) can follow those instructions to ensure they work.

Cheers,
Martin
