I privately queried whether GPL was really the right thing to be
licensing ODD files with since it is more commonly used with
software, rather than some open data or open content license.
Some of the decision about that hinges on what you
philosophically believe the role of an ODD file to be (software
library, data file, meta-schema, documentation, etc.). However
Sebastian convinces me that *changing* the license away from GPL
midstream might be more annoying than it being licensed GPL. So I
only comment on this for the record so that it is clear that we
did at least consider the possibility of moving away from the GPL
for non-software. And certainly this is *not* a voice against
aligning Tite with the rest of the TEI Exemplar Schemas from the
point of view of licensing...they should all certainly be the
same license.
