If so, and if I read you correctly, then we could prospectively change
the wording in the guidelines to reflect that, without doing any harm, I
should have thought. If we decide at the next f2f to (for example)
deprecate @match altogether (as Syd proposes), then it's moot. Anyone
who uses @match as currently written, to point to
"//persName[@resp='jc']", will also still be conformant, since the "//"
takes the context back to root.
