I was away all last week so I haven't yet had feedback on conversations 
that may have gone on at the AAUP meeting in Philadelphia that just 
concluded. I'll let you know what I learn.

Given the heterogeneity of publishers and target publications that may 
be interested in adopting a TEI-based schema, my suspicion is that we 
may be looking at more than one customization, or perhaps a modular 
customization (base publishing schema, journal module, monograph module, 
scientific module, or whatever). Certainly the AAUP is going to want 
something that will in fact work well with most or all of their book 
content.

Yes, I'll volunteer to do this for the remainder of the year at least.
