I absolutely agree. I especially wouldn't like for the "simple" solution 
to cease to be valid when something more subtle comes along. If the 
current proposal works now (and if it allows for a usage as simple as 
target="d001" locus="@notBefore"), then by all means let's start rolling 
it out.

Could we have a simple restatement of both the minimalist and the 
slightly more powerful uses of the proposed new attributes, please?
