@ #ABTEI4/p[2]: I really do not think we should restrict ourselves to
  a major.minor versioning system. As the first line of my previous
  and this post demonstrate, sometimes much more fine-tuned
  distinctions are needed. If we are going to commit to a
  software-like numbering scheme (which I think is too restrictive --
  permitting dates or SF revision numbers is better), we should at
  least stick to Council's decision of 2004-01-27 to use
  major.minor.micro, I should think.
