There is a trac ticket saying that this section needs to be scrapped or 
rewritten.

Having just glanced at it, I can't immediately see anything wrong, 
except that maybe it needs something about tagging parts of individual 
names using the elements from ND

Would any of those currently beating their heads on bibliographic 
matters care to comment? preferably in the form "leave it alone" or "add 
these words here".

p.s. the subject line comes from a pilcrow: cool or what
