Dear Council members,

As promised yesterday and after discussion in the planning subcommittee
(Daniel, Sebastian, Christian), here is the proposed work plan for the weeks
to come:

Overall timetable:

Aug 4th: feature freeze (more or less)
Aug 4th - September 7th: integration of proposed items (e.g. facsimile)
in chapters and review (see below)
September 11th - September 16th: final council review sessions
we will put the chapters to vote 1 by 1
September 15th - October 19th: all text locked for single master edit,
            assigned to Lou
(at this point, I think it would be counter - productive to try
            to do cross-atlantic editing)
September 15th - October 19th: final decisions about layout, publication,
            web site, assigned to Syd
October 20th - October 30th: implementation of publication, assigned to
            Sebastian

The details for the chapter triage are at
http://tei.oucs.ox.ac.uk/trac/TEIP5/wiki/Review [1]
one of the ideas behind this being that those who still carry stuff not
integrated stuff (eg facsimile) will take ownership of that chapter for the
month Aug 4 to Sep 7.

The task assigned with the chapter review is as follows:

Read thechapter again and fix anything which looks wrong. You can do this in
one of two ways:

 - writing replacement lines/paragraphs/sections and sending them to Lou
 - editing the source ODD file in situ, if you are sure you know what
they are doing

Saying "this section looks wrong, it needs a rewrite" is only acceptable
_in extremis_. If you edit the ODD, you will have to be extremely
careful to work in a way which allows someone else to see
the differences. Proposals for changes to the schema
can be made, and recorded in trac for P5 1.1.

All the best,

Christian

[1] The last column has more ? if the chapter is deemed to have more
work to do, and a * if its vitally important that it be edited
