doesn't this already do what you suggest?

what I _could_ do is list as parents only those elements which 
_directly_ reference
the current element, and leave the rest of it to be explored via model 
classes and
macros. but it can take some considerable clambering to find things: eg 
up to a macroSpec,
then look at classes referenced by that, then at classes of which those 
classes are
members, and so on.
