So the question seems to be whether to add this @references and what
implications this might have. I think this is more suitable to
discussion here (with some examples and running code), rather than
spending time on this at the call.

This will not so much be a new item, but rather part of your dealing
with the existing action item, so I do not see how this is affected by
that rule.
