This evening on WORT-FM, Madison, WI I spoke with San Diego poet Maggie Jaffe. She read some of her poetry. I had a couple of her books and offered them to the first two people who called in with the answer to what tragic incident happened 47 years ago yesterday. Two people called in immediately answering, "The execution oof Julius and Ethel Rosenberg." There were no reminders in the newspapers yesterday. Sad. With the Rosenbergs in mind Maggie read a poem Civil Poetry (after Pier Paolo Pasolini, 1968) from her soon-to-be-published book The Prisons. j grant
