I thought I'd let folks on the list know that I will be a guest on a
one-hour call-in program ("Midmorning") on Minnesota Public Radio airing
at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time this coming Monday (Sept. 23). The subject
of the show was generated by three articles that have recently attacked
the left for 'losing its edge with the American public,' and 'using
rigid and pompous rhetoric that alienates much of the public.'

The three articles are Todd Gitlin's column in the Times, recently
distributed on the list by radman (radtimes), one by John Powers in LA
Weekly (comparing the Nation unfavorably with The Weekly Standard (&
noting that the left lost the humor it had in the 60s, whereas now the
right has it); and one by Camille Paglia in Times on Line. I enclose
the links for the article below.

The program is described at MPR's web site:

I don't yet know if one can listen over the net or not... but thought
perhaps there might be some on the list in the Minnesota area who might
    be interested.

3 of the articles they sent me can be found at:
