RE: Movement History
The Ayers book debate is interesting, but maybe is too US-centric
considering how globalized the anti-war, civil rights and labor movements
so quickly became (Prague Spring, May-June in France, Mexico, Vietnam,
etc.) Sheila Rowbotham's recent memoir 'Promise of a Dream' - coming of
age in the UK left of the 60's - is among many that give useful
perspective on the impact that the multifaceted US movement had
elsewhere, and its part in the broad momentum of the era.
