    HARTFORD, Connecticut Nearly 100 pieces of memorabilia - including unwashed
    socks - that belonged to the 1960s activist Abbie Hoffman are on display at
    the University of Connecticut.
    The items include declassified FBI documents related to his arrest at the
    Democratic National Convention in Chicago in 1968. They will be exhibited
    through May 25. In 1968, Hoffman started the Youth International Party, the
    Yippies, to bring together radicals to protest the Vietnam War.
    His family donated the collection to the university after his suicide in
    1989 at age 52.
