    Forget "motives." Either people who object to David's reasoning can refute
    it, or they can't. The near-universal focus--instead--on his motives or
    character is as good as sign as you could wish for that his opponents are
    intellectually bankrupt and unable to counter his arguments. It's
    McCarthyism, pure and simple.
