There are, I'm sure, excellent documentary sources (starting with the Pentagon
papers), but I believe that this may be the visit that occasioned Dulles' offer
to the French foreign minister (Mendes-France?) of 2 US atomic bombs for French
use in Indochina. That offer is documented on film in an interview with
Mendes-France in the movie, Hearts and Minds.
