    Free Howie!

Howard Mechanic was an anti war activist in the
seventies who was accused, and convicted of, throwing
a firecracker at police during a post Kent State
demonstration. He denies throwing the firecracker.
He was sentenced to five years. He split prior to
    sentencing.

Howie went on to live a productive life as a socially
responsible businessman in Arizona under an assumed
name. He donated 25% of his annual income to
progressive charitable causes and was active in his
    community.

For whatever reason, Howie ran for local public office
last year and the truth about his past came out. He's
    been in jail since February.

It's an interesting story. Howie needs support.
