    Sixties Poetry Bands at the Paradise Lounge

    Allen Cohen and John Sinclair, two survivors of the battles and epiphanies of the Sixties will be bringing their poetry bands to the Paradise Lounge at 11th and Folsom on Saturday, September 9, starting at 8PM
    The San Francisco Poetry Band w/ Allen Cohen, George Michalski, Sam Andrew, Jason Christian, and special guest Tony Seldin, The Vagabond Poet will have its debut performance.

    John Sinclair and the Blues Scholars w/ Wayne Kramer will be coming from New Orleans for there only Bay Area appearance.

    Also performing will be Eric Mcfadden and Patrick Winningham

    John Sinclair is a blues poet who founded the White Panther Party 1967 in Ann Arbor Michigan and the Rock Band MC5. His set up political bust by the FBI was a national cause celeb.

    Allen Cohen was the founder and editor of the legendary underground psychedelic newspaper in the Haight Ashbury circa 1966-68.

    George Michalski is the musical director of the hit TV show Nash Bridges.George composes tunes to Allen Cohen's poems and plays keyboards.

    Sam Andrew is one of the original members of Big Brother and the Holding Company
