The June 1999 edition of New Political Science (Vol 21 No. 2) is devoted
entirely to the history and implications of the Black Panther Party. The
special issue is titled, "Liberation, Imagination and the Black Panther
Party." I strongly recommend it, not only as an antidote to
Horowitz/Pearson but to the self-serving, opportunistic, "memoirs" of
