I've just finished reading the book and must say that I found it quite
uneven (a common problem with collections of essays). I was quite
disappointed in the essays on his early activism, particularly on
Freedom Summer; he offers nothing new here. But the essays which
reflect his more recent interests are worth a read, particularly the
pieces on Youngstown steelworkers and his tribute to E.P. Thompson.
