Monday night I saw John Hammond in concert in Santa Fe with Little Charlie
and the Nightcats. I've been a Hammond fan ever since I saw him at the
Ash Grove (LA) in the '60's. I've heard him play a number of times.
I would really like to know more about him. I've read his father's
autobiography. A great book. His father, also named John Hammond, was a
top executive at Columbia records who "discovered" Bob Dylan, was married
to
Benny Goodman's sister, and made a major effort to preserve country
blues music in the '30's and '40's. John, the musician, grew up around
the blues.
But, in addition to this; what else can people tell me about this
wonderful performer? Any and all information will be much appreciated.
