Evita *did*, however, say that Mussolini was "the greatest man of the 20th
century." I think that's a pretty good gauge of her politics.

I haven't seen the movie yet. I did see about 25 minutes of the rushes,
because I was one of the people who participated in a consumer survey to
pick scenes for use in the previews. I was very impressed with what I saw in
terms of style and depiction of the *feel* of populist politics of the
Peronist type, but without seeing the whole movie I can't tell what the
overall feel will be. I certainly intend to see it.

The reviewer on our local Pacifica station didn't like it, in part because
the synchronization between the soundtrack and the speakers was a little
off. That was one of the things I *did* like, because it gave a little
distance from the cast, rather than sucking the audience into identification
with the characters in the typical Hollywood style.
