There's a book that came out last year some time that addresses the actual
experiences and beliefs (to some extent) that the young band of
journalists encountered in Vietnam. I can't remember, unfortunately, the
name of the author or the title, but it came out last year and was
excerpted in _Vanity Fair_ around December. A fairly easy and compelling
read (as evidenced by the fact that it was published in VF...),
journalistic rather than scholarly, but it may be of help to you. Perhaps
someone else on the list can remember more detailed info about the book?
