This must be akin to having enough nuclear armament to destroy the world 7
times. Of course, if the Russians matched us, we'd surely need 8X. "By
God, they're AHEAD of us!"

And sadly, the grunts in the field saw from experience what all the
intelligence and strategy people missed by not even reading a history
book--what was 20 more years of fighting for independence after having
survived 1000? When you've got nothing, you've got nothing to lose.
