Re: Sean Flynn
I just wanted to thank those who have responded to my inquiry. I now
have some reading to do. I appreciate the suggestions of books and
documentaries.
Whether Sean Flynn was an adventurer with an "evident death wish" is a
judgment call I'll leave to others. That Flynn and others in Vietnam during
the war may have been a little crazy is not new and not bad. Even those of
us who did not serve have been more than a little crazy one time or another
in our lives.
All I can say at this point is that I've seen Sean Flynn in the movie
"Mission to Venice" and that I thought it pretty good. He clearly had some
talent and some ability. I've surely seen worse actors on screen. I am
curious to see other Sean Flynn movies and will endeavor to do so.
What I did find as something of a surprise was that Sean Flynn had made
a movie "Singapore, Singapore" in 1969!
I found a Jean Larteguy novel that seemed to be loosely based on Flynn,
of a movie star's actor son who disappeared in Cambodia.
Again, thanks.
