Dear Sixties People and Archie Loss:

I'm sending this post again since Archie missed it the first time:

A new art show, DECADE OF PROTEST: Political Posters from the United
States, Viet Nam & Cuba 1965-1975, will be shown at
Track 16 Gallery from January 8 to March 9, 1996
2525 Michigan Avenue, Building C,
Santa Monica, CA 90404

The exhibition contains of over 100 posters produced in response to the
Viet Nam war as seen through the eyes of three very distinct cultures. The
US posters against the war include Pop Art, anonymous posters from RESIST
and FUCK THE DRAFT, as well as SDS and the Black Panthers. Of
particular note are the original posters produced in Viet Nam that "display
a riveting artistry at the service of nationalism and productivity." Also
included is a massive poster from Berkeley in response to the bombing of
Cambodia. There will be a resource room with documents from that era as
well as a chronology of historical and cultural events. A film festival is
also planned in conjunction with the art installation. I believe Horace Coleman
and Leroy Quintana, two NamVet poets of note, will be reading there as well.

A catalogue for $24.95 from Smart Art Press accompanies the installation.
Contact Susan Martin at the above addresses for further information.
