To whom it may concern:
Hi, my name is Cara Simpkins, and I am a freshman at the College
of William and Mary in Virginia. I am writing in regards to a paper due
next week that I have been assigned in my freshman seminar: American
Studies, "The 60's". We have read a portion of Donald Katz's novel, Home
Fires; "Howl" by Ginsberg, and a portion of The Feminine Mysitique.
Drawing on our readings, we are to write a paper on what we think the
reactions of characters in our readings would have been, or what the actual
reactions are of persons who lived in the 60's to John F. Kennedy's
inaugural speech. I am curious as to what actual persons living at that
time felt as they listened to that speech, and what their reactions were,
and or are to the words that Kennedy spoke. Any and all help I receive would
help me a great deal. Thank you in advance to anyone who responds.
Sincerely,
Cara L. Simpkins
