You are invited to attend a presentation by Stephen Chapman, Preservation
Librarian for Digital Initiatives from the Weissman Preservation Center at
Harvard University Library. The title of his talk will be "Digital
Preservation: Challenges, Services and Costs". The talk will be held at
1:30, Monday, March 25 in Clemons Library, room 201. Please feel free to
futher extend this invitation to anyone else who may be interested.

Steve is a member of Harvard's Library Digital Initiative technical team

challenges to define the scope of digital preservation services, and the
common infrastructure needed to meet expectations to manage and deliver
digital resources in perpetuity. He will also report on the current costs
of digital repository services at Harvard, highlighting the affordability
gap between managing traditional versus digital objects.

This talk is sponsored by the Supporting Digital Scholarship Project,
